Small Business Saturday in Rochester, NY

We all know about the crazy lines and Black Friday deals offered by major retailers the day after Thanksgiving.  Some big box stores have even decided to open on Thanksgiving to try to get a jump on their competition.

While we wish them well, our focus is on helping to support locally-owned small businesses right here in Rochester.  After all, when you spend money at the big chain stores, your dollars leave our community and help support wherever they are from.  When you support locally-based retailers, you support your friends and neighbors and more of your dollar stays right here to help build our local economy.  In challenging economic times, we like the sound of that and we hope you do too.

Small Business Saturday is on November 29th this year and provides an opportunity to support local businesses.  At Vittorio Menswear and Tuxedo we’ll have special deals to help you cross things off your holiday shopping list.  The nice folks at American Express have even pitched in with an offer to provide a $10 credit on your statement if you register your American Express card for the Small Business Saturday promotion and make a purchase of $10 or more at a participating small business like ours.  That’s basically $10 off anything you like in our store, compliments of Amex.

Tuxedos for Chatterbox Club Dance in Rochester, NY

The 8th Grade Chatterbox Club Dance is almost here!  The Chatterbox Club of Rochester was founded in 1923 as women’s social club and counterpart to then all-male country clubs in Rochester, NY.  It has been located at it’s present location on Goodman Street since 1927.

Among other events and activities, each year they sponsor an invitation-only formal dance for area 8th Graders attending private schools. Vittorio Menswear & Tuxedo is pleased to offer special group pricing to young men attending the event.

Here in the United States, we have many 4th of July events that celebrate our independence from England.  Take a short drive to our north and the 4th is just another day.  All the real action takes place on July 1st, also known as Canada Day. This holiday celebrates the formation of modern Canada in 1867 when three provinces were combined to form one country.

We have lots of friends with Canadian heritage and lets face it, who doesn’t like a quick getaway to Toronto to watch a game or do some shopping?  We got to thinking that it would be nice to have a little celebration of our own right here in Rochester.  Swing by Vittorio Menswear & Tuxedo on Canada Day for some exclusive savings:

Super Saturday Event

Super Saturday Event

Next weekend is the big game and getting folks to our store next Sunday to shop for tuxedos and wedding suits seemed like a bit of an uphill battle.  That’s why we decided to have a little fun with it and make the Saturday before into a fun event in our store.  We’ll have pizza and beverages and you can check out the latest tuxedo and wedding suit styles for 2014.

We’ll have door prizes with a twist; vote on which vest color you like the most – Seattle Blue or Denver Orange.  We’ll post the “winner” on our social media profiles and see how close the actual game results come to your votes!

Wedding Wednesday at Vittorio’s

Wedding Wednesday in Rochester, NY

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, in early U.S. history, Wednesday was said to be the luckiest day for weddings.  While we can’t comment on the luck involved with having your wedding on any particular day of the week, we can say that the middle of the week is a great time to learn more about all the things you’ll need for your wedding.
